2-Day Intensive: Massive Monoprint Workshop with Jenny Robinson
25-26 April 2026, 2 days.
Cost: AUD $750 plus $45 studio fee. Limited to 5 participants. See Terms and Conditions below.
This intensive workshop is designed for painters, printmakers, sculptors, and other creatives looking to produce large-scale works on paper within a focused, supportive studio environment.
This is not a teaching workshop. It is structured specifically for self-directed artists with prior printmaking experience who wish to deepen or advance new or ongoing large-format projects.
The weekend offers uninterrupted studio time to develop your work at scale alongside a small group of like-minded artists. You will have full access to our large American French Tool press, ideal for ambitious monotype and matrix-based projects.
Jenny, along with an experienced studio assistant, will be available throughout the session for technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance, ensuring you can realise the full potential of your prints.
Each artist will have a dedicated worktable (1.5 × 1.2 m). Participants are welcome to bring their own plates or matrices—etchings, collagraphs, drypoints, stencils—or use the studio’s large monotype plates (up to 122 × 92 cm) for creating unique, expansive monoprints.
This workshop is limited to 5 artists to ensure generous press access and an unhurried working pace.
The studio provides basic inks, but artists are encouraged to bring their preferred inks and colour palettes.

Advanced Collagraph Printmaking: A Five-Day Immersion with Sarah Amos
25-29 May 2026, 5 days
This workshop is full with a waitlist
Cost: AUD $1,750 plus $45 Studio Fee. Limited to 5 participants. See Terms and Conditions below.
This intensive five-day workshop is designed for experienced printmakers with an established practice. Under the guidance of artist Sarah Amos, participants will immerse themselves in the multi-plate Collagraph process that she has developed and refined.
The focus of the class will be on creating a cohesive suite of Collagraph plates that reflect your current artistic narrative or personal interests. While you may choose your own working scale, access to a large-scale press offers a unique opportunity to expand your visual vocabulary and push your printmaking skills to new creative heights.
Consistency is essential when building a unified body of work. You’ll learn how to design plates of consistent size, texture, and line quality—key components in achieving visual harmony. We’ll also explore the thoughtful use of color, a critical element in Collagraph printing.
Rather than overloading your prints with saturation, you’ll work with a limited palette that enhances each plate’s potential when layered. This restrained approach will help maintain clarity and depth across your compositions.
Additional techniques, such as the use of Mylar stencils, will introduce transparent layers and subtle color shifts, enriching your prints with a new visual vocabulary. Participants should bring a sketchbook containing ideas or color drawings—typically one to three completed sketches. These will help guide the creation of your plates and inform a strategic plan to make the most of your press time and creative process.
Sarah will also demonstrate drawing techniques on finished prints to refine and activate surfaces, as well as the French seam technique for those interested in joining multiple sheets of paper into a single, precisely aligned large-scale print.
By the end of the 5 days you will have developed a cohesive body of work that demonstrates both technical excellence and conceptual depth.
Sarah Amos has taken this printmaking discipline to a new level due to her persistent experimentation and her refined aesthetic. Amos is enthralled with the Collagraph technique that she has perfected over 29 years of experience. The multiple plate process and layering technique that Amos primarily uses is a wonderful way to achieve a rich painterly surface with both oil paint ,etching ink and a variety of drawing materials.
Sarah, originally from Melbourne, Australia lives in East Fairfield, Vermont, USA and maintains an active exhibition schedule of her own work despite her intense commitment to teaching other artists during the year. Sarah has been a rotating Adjunct Professor at Dartmouth, Williams and Bennington College’s where she taught Printmaking and Drawing and Mural Printing.

Monoprints Reimagined: Breaking the rules of the Multi Plate Monoprint with Sarah Amos
1-3 June 2026 , 3 days
Cost: AUD $1,150, plus $45 Studio Fee. Limited to 5 participants. See Terms and Conditions below.
Join Master Printmaker Sarah Amos for an immersive three-day Mono printing workshop in which artists will explore the expressive possibilities of mark-making using cardboard and acrylic plates. Participants will experiment with texture, stencils, and hand-drawing techniques while working directly and intuitively on the plate. This highly spontaneous printmaking process encourages freedom and immediacy, using rich oil paints and etching inks to create layered, dynamic images. Together, we will turn this traditional method on its head and push it into new and exciting visual territory through a range of original and innovative approaches.
Over the three days, artists will explore a broad range of techniques including line transfer, stencil work, and subtractive methods, using an extensive selection of hand tools. Participants will discover how Mono printing allows for rich layering of oil paint on paper, resulting in finished prints that can stand alone or be combined with older prints to re-energize and transform their surfaces. Drawing materials will be demonstrated both before and after printing, enabling artists to integrate lines and washes seamlessly into their process to create dynamic, spatial images.
Artists will learn how to create both multi-plate Mono prints using mat board to build layered effects, as well as the “one-shot” process using acrylic plates, where the entire plate is painted in a single, expressive session with multiple colors. Each approach offers unique possibilities—from subtle, nuanced mark-making to bold, gestural brushwork—allowing artists to develop a distinctive visual language.
The workshop will also cover the creation of intricate, reusable stencils that introduce a new vocabulary into your Mono printing practice. Proper use of hand rollers with both ink and oil paint will be demonstrated, along with essential studio practices including registration, paper preparation, safe handling techniques, and archiving finished prints.
